Career Communities

Merrimack’s Career Communities help Warriors connect their academic experience to the world of work through major-specific career advising, workshops, networking events and recruiting opportunities.

Each community is designed to give students easier access to alumni, employers and experiences aligned with their fields of interest, no matter their academic year.

What Career Communities offer:

  • Curated internships, co-ops, research and full-time jobs
  • Targeted career advice and workshop recommendations
  • Opportunities to meet employers (including alumni) and build your network

Frequently Asked Questions

Career Communities are groups organized by major and industry focus to support students in exploring and preparing for careers. They bring together students, career advisors and industry professionals (including alumni) for shared learning, connection and opportunities both in person and online.

Business, Finance & Management – Explore opportunities in business, finance, entrepreneurship and organizational leadership. This community connects you with roles in corporate, nonprofit and startup environments.

Arts, Communication & Society – Engage with industries that value creativity, storytelling, and social impact. This community supports students pursuing careers in media, design, marketing and the humanities.

Healthcare & Wellness – Prepare for careers focused on improving individual and community well-being. This community includes clinical, public health and allied health pathways.

Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) – Dive into fields that drive innovation, research and technical problem-solving. This community supports students pursuing careers in science, computing, data and engineering.

Education & Social Policy – Support learning, equity and systems that serve individuals and communities. This community includes teaching, social services, criminal justice and related fields.

All students will be assigned to a Career Community based on their major starting fall 2025, or upon enrollment for new students. If you change majors, your community can be updated at any time, just contact your advisor or email obriencenter@merrimack.edu.

Currently, students are assigned to one community based on their major. If you have a unique circumstance or would benefit from a different community, please reach out to your advisor or obriencenter@merrimack.edu
