The O’Brien Center for Career Development was established because of the generosity of the James W. O’Brien Foundation in 2012, transforming career services and experiential learning for Merrimack Warriors. More recently, the O’Brien Foundation expanded its scholarship program which will fully fund high-achieving, low-income scholars from Lynn, Massachusetts

The O’Brien Foundation’s generosity in support of the career development initiatives of Merrimack College, has helped Merrimack to be recognized by Money Magazine as one of the “10 Most Transformative Colleges in the U.S.” — a college that “helps students do far better than would be expected, given their academic and economic backgrounds.”
