Ashleigh, a senior marketing student, went abroad to Paris for a social media and marketing internship with Krippit, a local fashion startup.
Ashleigh found her internship while speaking with Simona Sharoni from the global affairs office at Merrimack.
Asheligh had studied abroad in Italy the summer before and was interested in combining an internship with another study abroad experience. Simona helped Ashleigh secure her internship at Krippit and set up her fall semester in Paris.
Ashleigh’s day-to-day with Krippit focused on creating content alongside another intern from the University of Arizona. Her role involved filming and editing Instagram and TikTok content with the goal of increasing brand awareness and engagement. In addition, she created biweekly blog posts and had the opportunity to attend a variety of fashion events throughout Paris.
During this internship, Ashleigh was able to expand her marketing skills while working in a different culture. This experience allowed her to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds, helping her become more sociable, confident and conversational in a professional setting. The internship also gave her valuable insight into the fashion marketing industry and what it could look like to pursue a career in that field.
Ashleigh gained strong professional development skills by working and collaborating with a variety of perspectives. Ashleigh said, “Being able to expand my marketing skills from Merrimack and apply them internationally was a great way to push my professional self.”
Ashleigh’s favorite experience during this internship was attending Vivatech 2025, a multi-day event showcasing advances in technology. During this event, she got the chance to network within the space.
After graduation, Ashleigh will continue her education at Merrimack, pursuing a graduate degree while searching for full-time marketing roles.
