The O’Brien Center for Career Development is here to help at all stages of the process. Within this affinity group, we have collected a variety of resources to help guide you along. Resources will cover common frustrations or concerns seen by first-generation college students, financial resources in the form of Merrimack offices or scholarship websites, as well as identifying organizations on and off campus you may find of interest.

Financial Resources at Merrimack College
You may want to connect with Merrimack offices regarding financial resources, such as:
- Office of Financial Aid – questions regarding your financial aid package awarded by Merrimack College
- Office of the Bursar – questions regarding student billing and parking
- Office of Student Employment – questions regarding on-campus positions
Additionally, Merrimack has partnered with a free financial literacy platform called iGrad to provide you and your family with important education on financial planning and money management. The McQuade Library guide provides resources to you supporting financial literacy and the Merrimack Financial Capability Center.
NASPA Center for First-Generation Student Success
Through provision of services and guidance across institutional types, the Center aims to acknowledge the intersectional experiences of first-generation college students. This website serves as a home for Center updates and announcements, an outlet for sharing cutting edge research and current media conversations, opportunities for engagement through conferences and events, and access to a bevy of programs and services intended to improve first-generation initiatives across higher education.
