What type of position is this? Special Education TEACHER
- We have varying opportunities available within the Moderate and/or Severe special needs population in grades preschool through age 22.

Responsibilities include: Demonstrate common teaching competencies as defined by the Department of Education. Evaluate each student’s skills and develop an IEP with the team based upon results and experience. Use instructional methods and materials that are appropriate for implementing goals and objectives of students’ IEP. In consultation with BCBA, help supervise and model the implementation of behavioral intervention plans. Provide support and/or facilitate professional development and consultation to staff regarding their understanding of curriculum, classroom expectations, data collection and response to student behaviors. Coordinate all classroom activities and develop an organized classroom schedule. Ensure that curriculum frameworks set forth by Collaborative and DOE are met and integrated into the students’ IEP. Coordinate with all support specialists (OT, PT, Speech Therapists, Nursing, Adaptive PE, Assistive Technology Team, Vision, O&M, and Behavior) to provide a comprehensive service delivery program for each child.
- Receive annual training in Behavior management, Deescalation training, ALICE school safety, CPR/First Aid and Title IX, II, VI.

Will this role help me gain experience?
- While in this role, you can gain familiarity with multiple school program staff. You will work alongside fellow Special Education teachers from preschool through transition aged classrooms with Moderate and/or Severe student populations. There may be opportunities to transition to a different age group as staffing changes allow. Positions and/or staffing you will collaborate with on a daily basis are moderate or severe special needs teachers,school social workers/clinicians/ school counselors, Nursing, Assistive technology, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Vision teachers, Orientation and Mobility providers, Music therapy, Art, Adapted Physical Education, Physical Education as well as custodial and food service personnel.

Do I meet the qualifications?
- Qualifications: Appropriate DESE Teacher of Severe (all Levels) or Moderate (K-8) or (5-12) Special Needs and SEI Endorsement. Experience working with students in a school setting with academic, behavioral and/or emotional challenges, learning or developmental disabilities or autism preferred. Must be able and willing to physically restrain and/or lift students.
- Experience managing behavior of students with social and emotional challenges including students with autism. School based experience preferred. Ability to assist in providing guidance and oversight of school wide behavioral management system as well as individualized behavior plans.

- The positions are located in Hingham, Massachusetts and Randolph Massachusetts.
