State Representative Michael Day is looking to take on law students this fall who are currently enrolled in an accredited J.D. program and have related experience working with advocacy organizations, nonprofits, or government. Experience with Westlaw is preferred. As a law clerk for the Chair of the Joint Committee on the Judiciary, you will review and analyze bills, summaries and testimony, provide legal research, analysis and opinions, ensure the Committee’s compliance with statutory obligations, draft memos, policy briefs and bill summaries, as well as plan and facilitate Committee hearings. The internship would be unpaid, but we would be happy to work with your schools to have it apply for credit or stipend programs. Interns would be required to come in person to the State House 1-3 days a week working roughly 10 hours per week.
Anyone interested in applying should email Talia.Quinn@mahouse.gov with a resume, cover letter, and writing sample.
