Job Expectations:
- Demonstrate knowledge and compliance with Recreation Therapy Services policies and procedures.
- Attend and document staff meetings/in-service-training opportunities.
- Complete one student project approved by the university and this facility. The project will consist of a large event or project that can be utilized by the facility. For example, a new class, special event, adaptive equipment, or resource manual.
- Become involved in all aspects of recreational therapy including 1:1, group programs, evening, Saturday programs, and off-site classes.
- Plan and implement a minimum of two therapeutic recreation activities per week.
- Utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches and treatment modalities according to participants’ diagnoses, interests, and needs.
- Develop individuals’ treatment plans based on participants’ needs and address through recreational therapy treatment.
- Assist the CTRS with the planning, organizing, and implementing of the Special Event.
What we are looking for:
College students currently working toward a degree in the following or related fields:
CTRS (This internship can count toward supervised fieldwork hours for CTRS students)
Art Therapy
BCBA
Special Education
