Recording Breaking Attendance at Merrimack College’s Fall Internship & Job Fair

On September 26, Merrimack College students arrived at the MultiPurpose Room in the Sakowich Campus Center for the largest recruiting event of the semester – the Fall Internship & Job Fair. Students of all class years and majors attended this year’s first Fair, more than doubling past student attendance and setting a record for Merrimack College’s fall recruiting event.

Fifty-nine companies representing accounting and finance, engineering, law enforcement and government, non-profit, human resources, sales, management, business development, human services, staffing and recruiting attended the fair hoping to hire Merrimack talent for their internships, co-ops, and full-time positions.

59 companies were in attendance at the Fall Internship & Job Fair

Tess McMahon ’20, Human Development & Human Services major from Wilbraham, MA expressed her encouragement for all students to attend. “[The Fall Internship & Job Fair] is wonderful for any student looking for a job or internship no matter what grade you are because it’s great exposure to different types of jobs and companies and prepares you for your future.”

Marykate Kelly ’20, a marketing major from Mansfield, MA gained valuable connections and experience from attending the Fall Internship & Job Fair. “It was a great opportunity because it allowed me to go out of my comfort zone. I was able to talk to other companies like Beacon Hill [a human resources company] that allowed me to broaden my experience and possible opportunities after graduation.” Marykate goes on to say that “even if your major isn’t here or companies your major falls under, it’s still great to have good professional skills and talk to other people, send your resume out and follow-up.”
