Merrimack Professional Network
Your Network, Your Next Step Forward
The goal is simple – provide a space to connect. The Merrimack College community is being brought together within the Merrimack Professional Network to encourage students, alumni, faculty, staff and partners to intentionally build connections.
Affectionally known as the MPN, our site hosts a community page where students, alumni and other individuals can begin to see how wide our network really is. We cross international borders, span almost every imaginable industry and type of employer. Together we can support the future workforce and shape our tomorrow.
How does this platform differ from LinkedIn?
As career development professionals, we encourage our community to consider using both LinkedIn and the MPN to grow and maintain their network. The MPN will be for individuals directly connected to Merrimack, allowing you to filter down the millions of people who might be using other platforms. We also recognize there are specific fields which do not tend to join LinkedIn and this is a great opportunity to find new connections. If you build a quality connection on the MPN, we hope you’ll connect on LinkedIn at a later point in time.
What does it mean to be involved in the MPN?
Members within these areas can access the MPN to connect with one another and wait for current students to find you. You gain access to free resources, our job platform and much more. The MPN is what you make of it. Join our group pages, learn about more career paths and connect with others at your own pace.
*Ensure your notification settings align with your preferred engagement.
Looking to get involved at a deeper level? Consider serving as a mentor to a first-year student. Mentors will be assigned once a year to work with a first-year student over 6-8 months, hosting a minimum of six virtual meetings. See more information on the MPN Warriors at Work Program. Questions can be directed to warriorsatwork@merrimack.edu.
All students have the ability to create an account on the MPN and start connecting with the rest of the Merrimack community. You will only be able to see alumni, faculty, staff and partners who join the platform. These individuals will only be able to see you if you reach out to connect with them to maintain your boundaries.
Within the platform, you will be able to access additional resources beyond our fantastic community members such as:
- Direct connection to PathwayU – a career exploration assessment tool
- Merrimack groups for discussion and networking
- Career paths including salary information, responsibilities and skills
- Connection-driven job postings tied to members of the MPN who might be able to support you in applying
- Articles and videos of interest
Warriors at Work students will have the ability during their first-year spring semester to participate in the formalized Mentorship Program. Questions can be directed to warriorsatwork@merrimack.edu.
