Career Champions
Career Champions is a professional development program to spread awareness and integration of career development into the college community. The program is for those who actively assist students in determining and reaching their career goals focused on life-long success and outcomes.
According to the 2018 Strada-Gallup Alumni Survey “Mentoring College Students to Success”:
- Graduates are more likely to have received career advice from faculty or staff members than from the career services office
- While 1/3 of graduates say they received career advice from faculty or staff often or very often, 22% say the same about the career services office
Members of the Merrimack community who complete this series of training with at least a 70% on the course quizzes receive a digital badge that identifies them as someone who is equipped to assist students with their career decision-making. The Career Champions program provides opportunities for faculty, staff and student leaders to better understand career development, resources services and support available to Merrimack students, and the process of searching for an internship or job.
