Jessica Van Heynigen ’23 a nursing major and psychology and bioethics minor, was awarded the Honors Medallion from the Honors Program! She held herself to the academic standard of maintaining a 3.5 GPA or above over the last four years in addition to upholding the 5 pillars of the Honors Program: Community, Service, Research, Leadership, and Inclusivity. She stated, “Being a member of the Honors community at Merrimack has greatly expanded my knowledge, social circle, and my professional network. The Honors Program has provided me with the educational confidence needed for me to embark on my journey as a future registered nurse, and I am so grateful for everyone who has contributed to my success!” You can also find Jessica as an Honors peer mentor, Honors assistant peer mentor coordinator, Honors academic mentor, and on the Honors Student Council. Additionally within her major of nursing she is the Student Class Representative for the 2023 nursing class, a peer mentor, and in the nursing club. She has also been active in various intramural sports and club soccer.
