The establishment of this club is to create a familiar atmosphere to students who identify as Hispanic/Latino on the Merrimack Campus as well as educating and including allies of Hispanic/Latino Culture. This club will discuss current events that affect Hispanic/Latino people, what is culturally and socially important to Hispanic/Latino people, and diffuse stereotypes of Hispanic/Latino people on the Merrimack College Campus. This club’s purpose is to appreciate and acknowledge the diversity within Hispanic/Latino society and celebrate our unique differences. Association of Latinos Moving Ahead (A.L.M.A) Club will continuously work towards peacefully and resolutely portraying the significance of Hispanic/Latino Culture by engaging in activities that resemble the Hispanic/Latino heritage.
