Eliot is seeking energetic, positive, service-oriented individuals to work in a secure setting with adolescents in the Department of Youth Services’ care. The role is multifaceted and includes teaching, limit setting, advocating, coordinating treatment, and being a positive adult role model. Physical and Mental Demands: Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching and lifting to carry out job responsibilities. Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle as needed. Ability to work a flexible work schedule contingent upon program needs. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with periods of high stress. Ability to physically carry out Crisis Prevention Intervention techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Daily facilitation and coordination of program movement and youth engagement in executing the plan of the day in accordance with program, DYS, DEEC and ECHS policies and procedures.
- Participate in the development and implementation of Individual Service Plans.
- Assist youth with meeting treatment goals.
- Serve as a positive role model, mentor and advocate for youth.
- Maintain therapeutic boundaries throughout all interactions.
- Attend staff and shift change meetings and trainings as required.
- Assist youth in identifying interests and skills within community service opportunities and activities, as indicated.
- Safely transport residents to activities, appointments, school, work, and visits.
- Serve as an advocate for assigned youth. Meet with assigned youth weekly and provide advocate notes regarding the youth’s perspective and assessment of their respective week.
- Assist in maintenance and cleanliness of the facility.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Over 21 years of age
- High School Diploma completed
- Valid MA State Driver’s License
