Camp Sewataro is seeking a hard working and passionate youth development professional to join our dynamic team to work with our youngest campers entering K – 1st grade (ages 3-7)! The Fox Group Leader is the central counselor in charge of the group and is the focal point for each individual camper. The Fox Group Leader has the most day-to-day contact with individual campers, and is the person looked to as the most knowledgeable about camper personalities and group dynamics. The Fox Group Leader takes a group of individual children and creates a dynamic camper community! Fox Group Leaders guide their campers through the daily schedule and assist and support Activity Counselors at activities. All groups (and their leaders) swim twice a day!
Leadership, enthusiasm, management, organization, and attention to detail are all requisite skills for this position.
Fox Group Head Counselors differ from Group Leaders in that they are specially chosen for their expertise in working with campers who are in nursery, kindergarten, or first grade. These groups are usually staffed with one childcare professional and one to three assistants. The Fox Group Counselors must be creative and possess superior organizational, leadership, and nurturing skills. They also teach/assist when their group is swimming. Certified teachers are preferred.
Experience:
- Must be entering college in the fall (at least), or have at least 1 year of experience working on the Sewataro staff
- Applicants pursuing a degree in education/early childhood education are preferred

Camp Season: June 24 – August 16, 2023, plus pre-camp training days
Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:15 PM; Monday – Friday
