Paige Noyes ’25 Pursues Social Media Internship with Merrimack Sports Performance

Paige Noyes, a senior communication & media major graduating in winter 2025, secured a social media internship on campus with the Merrimack sports performance department.

Paige learned about this opportunity from her career advisor, Stephanie Sartori. After reaching out to express her interest, Paige was interviewed by the assistant athletic director of sports performance, Rob Livingstone. Right after her interview, Paige was thrilled to be offered the internship on the spot.

Paige’s role as the social media intern involves managing and analyzing the department’s social media presence to ensure strong audience engagement and growth. She regularly tracks analytics to measure performance, identify patterns and determine which types of content resonate most with followers. Additionally, Paige stays informed about current social media trends and best practices to keep the department’s platforms fresh and relevant.

As a communication and media major, Paige has developed valuable skills that she applies directly to her internship. She has gained meaningful knowledge not only from her classes but also through her involvement with MCTV, her role as a wellness peer educator, and her experience as an FYS mentor. Each of these opportunities has strengthened her communication, creativity, and leadership skills, which she brings to her internship.

Beyond her social media responsibilities, Paige also assists with creating and posting job descriptions and designing digital graphics that promote events, achievements and updates within the sports performance department. Her work plays an important role in maintaining the department’s professional image and enhancing its online visibility.

Paige’s day-to-day responsibilities include attending team lifts throughout the week to capture photos and videos that showcase the athletes’ hard work and progress. She transforms this content into engaging short-form videos and posts for Instagram, highlighting both the department’s culture and the student athletes’ dedication. Since taking over the account in September, Paige has already made a measurable impact—boosting the page’s following and engagement by 5.1%.

Paige expressed, “I love my internship, and I think it has been a great learning experience filled with new opportunities and skills to perfect.” Interning on campus has allowed Paige to balance her classes while gaining hands-on experience, making it especially convenient and rewarding. Following graduation, Paige plans to pursue a career in social media and brand management. Her internship experience has provided her with the perfect foundation to transition into her next role.
