Dyn, located in Manchester, NH, is a cloud based Internet Performance Management company that helps companies monitor, control, and optimize online performance for an exceptional end-user experience. Each year they host a Hackademy, a four-day, invite-only program for 20 to 30 computer science, engineering, education or healthcare students who are in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of college. The program features coding workshops, networking opportunities, and a mini hackathon where students work in teams to develop apps that can be deployed.
Joanna credits the O’Brien Center for opening her eyes to the opportunities at Dyn. “I first heard about Dyn’s Hackademy when I was researching the company prior to attending the Day in the Life Site Visit over Christmas Break. After visiting Dyn my interest in the company increased.” Along with the Day in the Life program, Joanna also attended the Spring Career Fair, walk-in hours, and works regularly with her Career Advisors.
The O’Brien Center for Career Development offers site visits to provide students the opportunity to connect with professionals in their field of interest and experience the workplace first hand. Since the first site visit in January 2015, over 100 students have visited 18 companies.
